Log Building & Timber Frame Courses

As part of Winter Homes vision for the future in Yukon Territory, we are offering log home and timber frame courses to teach those interested in learning the craft, allowing you to someday build your very own dream home. We are also offering these courses to students from around the world. This is a unique Yukon adventure experience. Housing our international students on our remote Mclintock River property, where you will stay in traditional wall tents looking over the beautiful Mclintock river and get the chance to learn the craft of log building and timber frame from some of Canada’s most skilled log and timber frame craftsmen. You will also spend two days a week on one of our locally guided Yukon adventure tours.

These are hands on log and timber frame courses with no classroom work. You will learn the safe operation and maintenance of chainsaws and other hand tools on your first day and be log and timber frame building on the second day. These courses are physically and mentally demanding but we believe you can and will rise to the challenge and we hope you will find the completion of your course very rewarding.
